The Long Now

The Long Now

02002

A clock is suspended from a white helium balloon that slowly travels through the space, an exhibition or simply the rooms of a building. It follows the warm and cold layers of air. As a floating thought or a gentle ghost the clock visits the paintings and the other visitors. Time passes in perfect silence and perpetual motion. The artist is regularly fine-tuning the altitude of the clock-balloon with tiny weights according to the changing temperatures and the body heat of the visitors.

performance with one or more balloons (max 10), variable duration.
